Over the course of Spotlight Recruitment’s history, we have assisted a diverse range of clients with senior appointments across marketing, digital, design, events, and communications. One of our clients is a global agency specialising in bespoke brand experiences. Recently, this client tasked our team with recruiting a Managing Director to join and lead their ambitious team, as well as focusing on global growth for the business.
Our client briefed us that they were seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead their agency team and oversee the day-to-day running of the UK business. It was vital that the ideal candidate would have proven leadership abilities within a marketing agency, as well as an understanding of the event management and hospitality sector. Importantly, the successful candidate would be able to nurture a healthy, positive, and inclusive working environment for all employees.
After gaining an in-depth insight into the responsibilities of this role, our team swiftly began our search. Our team of Consultants are all ex-marketers, and we are able to understand the bespoke needs of different clients and the niche skill requirements for marketing roles. Firstly, we assigned a dedicated Account Manager, with strong expertise in senior appointments, who devised a tailored recruitment campaign to engage highly relevant candidates. After the Spotlight team had performed an extensive interviewing and shortlisting process to ensure candidates were a great fit, a selection of stellar candidates was delivered to our client to review.
After our client had reviewed the candidates, four strong individuals were selected for the first interview, which was an online video call with the founder. As a result, one highly confident and experienced candidate was invited for a second interview to meet the founder and senior leadership team in person at their offices. To our delight, the interview was extremely successful, and the client thought that the candidate would be a perfect fit for the position, so they offered them the role of Managing Director. Our focus is always on a streamlined recruitment process, ensuring a transparent line of communication with candidates and working closely to ensure results are achieved.
