Since Spotlight started in 2008, we have recruited on behalf of many clients within the leisure sector, covering roles across marketing, events, design, digital, and communications. One of our valued clients is a unique leisure business that offers great social experiences across the UK. Recently, they approached our team with the request to assist in the recruitment of a Head of Marketing role to join their expanding team.
Our client briefed us that they were looking to hire an experienced Head of Marketing from the leisure industry, to lead their marketing department and develop and manage the multi-channel marketing strategy. It was vital that the candidates had at least 4 years of professional marketing experience, as well as an understanding of both digital and traditional marketing channels. The ideal candidate would be a creative, organized individual who would also share their passion for sustainability and nature. As this was a key role within the team, the focus was on pace and filling the role quickly with a standout candidate. Our team of Consultants are all ex-marketers, and we are able to understand the bespoke needs of different clients and the niche skill requirements for marketing roles at every level.
We allocated a dedicated Account Manager, who then conducted thorough research and executive search to locate ideal candidates for this role.
From the first round of senior marketers put forward, several were invited for a first-stage interview, which was an online video call. Our client was extremely impressed by the calibre of candidates interviewed, so invited two standout candidates to meet in-person for a final interview, which involved a campaign plan task. To our delight, the candidate’s second interview was a success, and they were swiftly offered the role. Final advice around the offer stage and the package was conveyed, with both parties happy to accept terms for their new Head of Marketing to join the team.
