Since Spotlight Recruitment began in 2008, we have worked with hundreds of ambitious clients to hire marketing, digital, and communications talent, some of which operate within the architecture sector. Recently, we were approached by an organisation of professional design and consultancy practices, which also operated as a B Corp, Social Enterprise, and Employee Benefit Organisation. This client was looking to hire a creative Marketing & Communications Manager to join their expanding team.
The client briefed us that the ideal candidate for this role would be a proactive, collaborative, and creative thinker, with detailed knowledge of marketing, communications, and PR functions as well as an understanding of the architecture design process. Importantly, the ideal candidate would also have a passion for ethical sustainability and values that aligned with those of the business. Eager to begin a successful relationship with this client, our team commenced with thorough research to gain key insights that influence our bespoke campaign strategy which is tailored directly to the needs of each client. Our team of Consultants are all ex-marketers, and we are able to understand the bespoke needs of different clients and the niche skill requirements for marketing roles.
Once this stage was complete and highly relevant candidates had been selected, we carried out our own interviews and screenings to assess further suitability for the role based on their previous experience and communication skills. After this, the strongest candidates were shortlisted further to present to our client for their approval to invite them to interview.
The interview process consisted of two interviews, the first being an online video call, and the second being an in-person interview with a campaign task to prepare. From the very first round of candidates presented to our client, one exceptional candidate was quickly offered the position.
