Head of HR – Digital Media/music

Our client is a high profile digital media business and are looking for a strategic Head of HR to join their team in London covering HR for London and European head office. This is a new role for a highly creative company and will be key in supporting the senior leadership team with the longer-term growth potential, ensuring that the people side of the business is aligned to the overall strategic objectives. You will shape, maintain and deliver the Company’s people strategy, policies and processes and be confident switching between strategic and operational requirements. Ideally you will have worked as a Head of HR in SME organisations, perhaps in digital media and understand that this is a standalone role in the short term.

As Head of HR, you will hold a crucial HR role in the business, working at Director level (reporting into senior stakeholders) playing a central role in developing and implementing strategic HR aims and objectives, coaching and guiding Managers on HR issues, shaping a new HR strategy,  providing leadership for the HR function, internal and external relationship management, performance management and generalist HR.

The Head of Human Resources will work directly with all levels throughout the business requiring strong people management skills and the ability to motivate and get the best out of people.

This senior HR position requires an exceptionally organised and confident Human Resources professional who can form strong business partnerships at all levels. As Head of HR, this role will act as the lead on the Human Resources function across the Group.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Degree qualified and CIPD qualified and well-versed in employment law 
  • Startup experience preferred
  • Mid to senior level experience (6+ Years) in multi-faceted people role across multiple areas of HR
  • Preference for background within the digital media and IT sector would be an advantage
  • Demonstrable and genuine passion for music and technology 
  • Technical IT skills: competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite and HR systems
