Designer – IMMEDIATE START – 3 month temp contract – £38,000 pro rata 

Exciting opportunity for a creative Designer looking to join a high-profile educational institution which has a long history of educational excellent. This Designer role is a temporary position and will start immediately for around 3 months.

As Designer you will be working with a friendly, welcoming and supportive communications team, who are based in a gorgeous building in an attractive part of London. The Designer will take on a hands-on role within the institution, responsible for designing and producing exciting visual content to help promote what they do. The role will cover both design, print and photography elements:


  • Design and produce artwork for both printed and online marketing material (brochures, adverts, web banners, events posters magazine, newsletters etc.)
  • Working in collaboration with internal teams to successfully deliver detailed project briefs in Design, Print Work and Photography
  • Manage image library for global usage (selecting, organising, colour correcting etc)
  • Confidently adapt design work based on feedback from internal and external stakeholders
  • Be a point of contact to staff seeking guidance on creative and design work and production, train staff on using InDesign, as needed.
  • Ensure that all artwork is delivered according to our branding guidelines.
  • Construct artwork master templates for use throughout the organisation.
  • Infographics or animation for the school website


  • Create, prepare, proof and check print ready artwork
  • Responsible for design, production and distribution of printed materials
  • Liaise with external print suppliers, ensuring they deliver quality work, on time and on budget.
  • Manage the respective invoices and paperwork
  • Work to short deadlines and fast turnaround times


  • Plan and coordinate the photography and film schedule for the Communications team
  • Photographically record key events to working some evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Undertake weekly marketing photoshoots, liaising with staff, students and alumni, to collect images for use across our various platforms to strengthen offline and digital presence.
  • Build a library of key brand images, working strategically to plan photoshoots
  • Work with the Marketing Officer to ensure that all news stories have strong images
  • Post creative school-related photographs weekly on the school Instagram channel.
  • Maintain and develop the Communications team photographic equipment
  • Edit and re-touch photographs using Photoshop/Lightroom where required  
  • Provide photographs for PR to key media contacts  
  • Organise and lead photography training for staff who regularly photograph school events
  • Arrange for external photographers and film-makers to support with specific projects
  • Undertake logistical planning of photoshoots, booking spaces, gaining permissions, obtaining props

Who are you?

  • Free to start immediately and happy to work in a temporary contract for around 3 months
  • Strong creative flair with ability to identify and create compelling content
  • Excellent writing, subbing and proofing skills
  • Degree in Graphic Design
  • Proven industry experience as a Designer
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign
  • A passion for photography
