Interview questions
You have got the interview now is the time to practice answering the questions! Get the obvious questions locked down in advance:test
- Why do you want this job?
- Name one of your strengths
- Why should we choose you?
- So, tell me all about yourself
- What do you think of what we do here?
- What do you think of the role on offer?
- How much do you know about us?
- What is your biggest weakness?
- What other type of roles are you applying for?
If you get nervous a few deep breaths will always help. If you really are struggling to get over those nerves, practice your interview with a friend and get them to put you on the spot and ask questions. Positive visualisation of a good interview, a friendly interviewer someone you really click with will help. Lots of preparation will help you relax and focus on positive calming thoughts before you go into the interview such as:
- They have already seen my CV and selected me to interview so I am off to a good start!�
- The interview is to learn about me and if I am suitable. They are genuinely interested in my background and want to learn more about me
- The interviewer is only human and not there to trick me, catch me out, or put me on the spot! I may actually really like them!
- I am feeling calm, confident, and looking forward to learning more about the role and the interview itself
- I am very capable of getting this job, and will give it my best shot
- Although I feel somewhat apprehensive I will do my best, this is one part of my day and I will take it in my stride.
